A cake for every event, not just the walima
A Pakistani wedding is not one event, and the cake is rarely one cake. Most couples we work with order two or three across the week, each matched to that function's colours and mood. Booking them together is cheaper than ordering separately and keeps the styling consistent.
- Nikkah — traditionally white, ivory or pastel, often with floral or calligraphy detail
- Mangni / engagement — smaller, usually one or two tiers, ring or heart motifs
- Mayon — yellows, marigolds and greens to match the haldi palette
- Mehndi — the boldest of the set: deep greens, oranges, mirror work, dholki motifs
- Baraat — richer tones, gold leaf, heavier ornamentation
- Walima — the formal centrepiece, typically the tallest and most structured cake
How big a wedding cake do you need?
Two things drive size: how many guests you actually intend to serve, and how tall you want the cake to look on the stage. Many couples order a cake sized for the photographs and serve a separate sheet cake to the room — it is far cheaper than sizing the display cake for 400 people.
| Guests served | Suggested cake | Indicative price |
|---|
| 30–50 | 2 tiers, 6–8 lb | Rs 12,000 – 20,000 |
| 60–100 | 3 tiers, 10–14 lb | Rs 22,000 – 40,000 |
| 120–200 | 4 tiers, 16–22 lb | Rs 45,000 – 75,000 |
| Display only + sheet cakes | 3–4 dummy tiers | From Rs 18,000 |
Design styles we are asked for most
Trends move quickly, but a few directions have held steady through recent seasons in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad:
- Textured buttercream with fresh flowers — softer and more natural than fondant
- White-on-white fondant with tone-on-tone piping, popular for nikkah
- Gold leaf and metallic accents against ivory or deep jewel tones
- Hand-painted florals echoing the bride's mehndi or the invitation design
- Urdu calligraphy of the couple's names or a line of poetry
- Marble and geode finishes for modern, minimal receptions
Tastings, timelines and booking
Book your wedding cake as early as you can — ideally as soon as the venue is confirmed. Between November and February, and around Eid, our slots for large tiered cakes fill weeks ahead.
We offer a tasting session before you commit so you can settle the flavour across tiers. Different tiers can carry different flavours at no extra structural cost, which is worth doing when you have a mix of guests.
- Two to three months before — enquire, agree a rough budget and style
- One month before — tasting, final design sign-off, deposit
- One week before — confirm guest numbers, venue access and setup time
- On the day — we deliver, assemble on site and stay until it is stable
Delivery and setup at your venue
Tiered cakes are not transported assembled. We carry the tiers separately with internal supports and build the cake at your venue, which is the only reliable way to get a tall cake through Lahore traffic intact.
Tell us the venue, the stage height and what time the hall opens for setup. If the cake is going under hot stage lighting we will adjust the recipe and finish accordingly — buttercream and Lahore summer lighting do not cooperate without planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does a wedding cake cost in Pakistan?
- A two-tier cake serving 30–50 guests typically runs Rs 12,000–20,000, three tiers for 60–100 guests Rs 22,000–40,000, and four tiers for larger receptions Rs 45,000–75,000. Sculpted work, sugar flowers and gold leaf add to that.
- How far in advance should I book a wedding cake?
- One to two months is comfortable, and as soon as the venue is confirmed is better. During the November–February wedding season and around Eid, slots for large tiered cakes go weeks in advance.
- Can different tiers have different flavours?
- Yes, and we recommend it for larger cakes. There is no extra structural cost — you simply pick a flavour per tier, which works well when guests have different preferences.
- Do you deliver and set up wedding cakes at the venue?
- Yes. Tiers travel separately and we assemble the cake on site, because a tall assembled cake will not survive the journey. Give us the venue address, stage height and the time the hall opens for setup.
- Can you make dummy tiers to keep costs down?
- Yes. Polystyrene dummy tiers are finished identically to real ones, so the cake photographs full-size while you serve guests from more economical sheet cakes cut in the kitchen.
- Do you deliver wedding cakes outside Lahore?
- We bake in Lahore and deliver across the city as standard. For venues elsewhere in Punjab, message us with the date and location and we will tell you honestly whether we can get a tiered cake there in good condition.
