A midnight delivery slot, running roughly 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM, is often the better save. It turns a late cake into a deliberate surprise at the start of the actual birthday, and it buys the kitchen most of a day. Book it as early in the day as you can and give a phone number that will be answered at midnight.
